Mending Minyan is a group of Jews and friends of Jews in/around New Haven who are practicing joy based Jewish ritual decoupled from zionism and in service to building radical Jewish practices in support of struggles against white supremacy, capitalism, and colonization. 

We host Kaballah Shabbats, as well as holiday events, and other gatherings. We work to practice a Jewish ritual that is a mix of both traditional and non-traditional, non-zionist/anti-zionist/diasporist, and honors the diverse practices of Jewish peoples. 

In keeping with a tradition of Tikkun Olam- we work to center 'Jews on the margin' - Black and Brown, Queer, Trans, Disabled, poor/working class, Jew by choice, Sephardic, and Mizrahi Jews. We work to stay humble, listen, learn, and build a liberation oriented Judaism. 

We learn from missteps while building resilience needed to grow.

 Due to the diversity of access needs of our community, some events may not be accessible to everyone, but it should not be the same people whose access is restricted every time. We can continue to strive to create events that are accessible to as many people as possible.

In January 2021 Mending Minyan formed an 'Admin Crew' who helps to support the boundaries and growth of Mending Minyan. The Admin Crew consists of 7-9 members and meets on monthly bases. The members on the Admin Crew help coordinate various working groups regarding rituals, educational events, solidarity actions, and more.  Below is a diagram of the first iteration of a Mending Minyan leadership structure, as well as a chart that was made to help guide where various decisions are made for Mending Minyan. Outside the venn diagram are values we use to guide any decision making process.
