Register for Mending Minyan High Holidays HERE The High Holidays are a time for opening up to our deepest selves, nurturing our relationships, and reaffirming our commitments to repairing the world. This year brings heightened urgency as we face the devastation of Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, ostensibly in our names as Jewish people. During this time of soul searching, reflection, and healing, we will explore anew the values of Teshuvah (repentance), Tefillah (prayer) and Tzedakah (justice), and what they mean for our current moment.
Rosh Hashanah is the opening of the gates to the ten Days of Awe during which we practice forgiveness to ourselves and others, and make intentions for the year ahead. This year, Mending Minyan is partnering with Jewish Voice for Peace-New Haven for “Ten Days of Resistance” to take action in solidarity with Palestine, including art-making, teach-ins, protests, and more. Stay tuned for more details on how to participate. The Days of Awe come to a close on the tenth day with Yom Kippur, where we acknowledge the ways in which we “missed the mark” over the past year and commit to striving towards our best selves, individually and collectively, in the year to come.
We welcome all to join us for our communally led, songful, High Holiday services. Our services will be grounded in tradition, imagination, and dreams for liberation.
